For Grupo Herdez, local or national suppliers are defined as those with manufacturing and transformation plants within Mexican territory.
In the case of agricultural raw materials, all our producers are distributed throughout the Mexican Republic in the states of Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Durango, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Puebla, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora and Zacatecas.
For raw materials, 91.9% corresponds to local suppliers and only 8.1% corresponds to foreign suppliers. In the case of packaging material, 74.6% of our purchases are local, 4.1% is supplied by foreign suppliers and 21.3% corresponds to a mixed supply.
Regardless of the type of product or service they provide, all our business partners must sign and adhere to the Code of Conduct for Suppliers, which describes the minimum environmental and social requirements they must meet and evaluates their compliance with labor standards and current environmental regulations. In 2017, 175 new suppliers signed the Code.
